About this deal

This is noticeable when you compare the two-pedal kits side by side, with the new brake feeling ever so slightly softer and smoother across its movement range.

It will convert the physics and engine audio into vibrations that vary in strength. The louder your engine and stronger the car physics, the stronger the vibration in your wheel will be. What if you currently own a G29 or G920. Should you upgrade to the new Logitech G923? In a nutshell, we wouldn’t recommend it. The upgraded G923 doesn’t offer much of a different experience when compared to the G29. Games like F1 23 often provide some of the most realistic racing sim experiences around. And as a result, you'll want a racing wheel that can really capture the feeling of Formula 1. If you're on a budget, then, we'd recommend either the Thrustmaster T150 or the Hori Overdrive wheel for Formula 1 and other racing sims. They're fantastic entry-level wheels that, unlike the Thrustmaster T300 RS, won't cost the earth. If you already own the Logitech shifter, this new racing wheel is fully compatible. You can connect your shifter in exactly the same way you did with the old G29, and it will work out of the box. Disconnect the white cable from the circuit board and then remove the circuit board from the steering wheel tray by unscrewing the small silver screws, as in the video above.

If you are working on a G29, you will notice that there is a ps3-ps4 switcher at the top of the hub (see photo). Be very careful when opening the hub and separating it from the steering wheel, as the mechanism of this switcher is delicate. To avoid breaking it, just avoid bumping it. Important: logitech steering wheels, compared to others, are more complex to disassemble. Modify your steering wheel if you're sure of where to put your hands. In fact, when Logitech announced that they were releasing a new racing wheel. I actually got very excited that another manufacturer was entering the direct-drive space. Oh, how disappointed I was.Although, all in all, this isn’t a huge upgrade in terms of performance or quality. And most racers wouldn’t notice a difference between the two pedals.

As you drive, you can feel the gears turning, and this is especially true when making very fine wheel angle adjustments. If you are mid-corner, and try to apply slightly more wheel input, you can actually feel the cogs in the gears. There are a few downsides to these generally great wheel sets, and it’s all about the parts outside of the wheelbase. The steering wheel is solid and very grippy, but uses a rubber grip rather than a leather one. Many people will be fine with the material, but after using the G29 we did miss the feel a little.

Fanatec makes some of the best, and most expensive, racing wheels going. The Fanatec CSL Elite is actually one of its more affordable models, made with a mainstream audience in mind, not least because it supports consoles rather than just the PC. First you need to remove the original rim, and to do so I recommend following the step-by-step video tutorial above, but here are the main steps:

Whether Fanatec or Thrustmaster is the better racing wheel brand will ultimately come down to your personal tastes and budget. The two shorter buttons, on the other hand, have a "left and right", so take one of them, insert it into one of the two remaining holes (the ones furthest from the centre of the steering wheel) and turn them until they match the mechanism. If it doesn't fit, you need to put it in the other hole. Trueforce is the name that Logitech have given their new wheel vibration technology. Trueforce is designed to replicate the vibration that you would feel in the chassis of a car if you were driving it in real life.Logitech has also upgraded the G923's brake, for more progressive resistance on the depress, while the LED rev indicator and 24-Point selection dial from the Playstation 4 version of the G920 become standard for this wheel. However, the G923 has Logitech's helical gearing system under the hood, which does not provide as smooth a feel as the Thrustmaster T300 RS. Many owners end up wanting to upgrade the pedals after a while too. The pedal caps are metal, but this is really just a basic plastic construction, without the stiffness of a great board or more advanced features like a high-end progressive brake. The exterior of the steering wheel part itself is also all-plastic, without the metal parts that make these wheels seem a bit less toy-like. There's still sports car-like metal spoke shifters behind the wheel, though.
